We take community pride so seriously, we give awards for it! From May to September each year, we recognize the efforts of residents, businesses, and volunteer organizations who are doing their best to make Keokuk its best! Anyone can submit a nomination for a Community Pride Award by submitting a nomination to our office. Eligible projects are those that make a positive and effective impact in Keokuk by managing, maintaining, or renovating public or private property or other similar acts of service.

Community Wide Recycling Event
Tuesday, September 22, 2020

One of our most popular annual events, the Community Wide Recycling Event offers an opportunity for
residents throughout the Tri-States to properly dispose of unwanted household items. We partner with
several organizations to collect items to recycle including: bicycles, eyeglasses, appliances and e-waste, books, documents to shred, and hazardous household chemicals. Over the years, we’ve recycled tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of unwanted electronics and appliances. This event runs alongside the City of Keokuk’s fall clean-up.
